This Cookie Policy explains how Lighthouse ('we', 'us', 'our') uses cookies and similar technologies on our website in compliance with UK and EU data protection laws.

Lighthouse respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. Our Cookie Policy is a statement of policy on what cookies are active on our website, what user data we track, for what purpose and where this data is sent. This policy is separate to our Privacy Policy which sets out how we collect, obtain and process your data. You can find our Privacy Policy on our website.

We use cookies and other tracking technologies ("Cookies") to improve your user experience. Cookies allow us to, amongst other things, recognise the device you use next time you visit the Webpage, provide certain essential functions and to monitor user behavior on the Webpage.

A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that we store on your browser or the hard drive of your computer when you visit our website. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive and can be classified as first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by another organization via our website), and as session (temporary) or persistent (remain on your device for a set period). Cookies are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide a better browsing experience, and give website owners information about how users interact with their site.

Changes to this Policy

We reserve the right to make changes to this Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website, services or applicable laws. The revised Policy will be effective as of the published effective date. Customers will be notified personally in the event of significant changes.

Blocking Cookies

You can block cookies by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. In order to block cookies, follow the instructions provided by your browser (usually located within the “settings”, “help” “tools” or “edit” facility). Many browsers are set to accept cookies until you change your settings.

If you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of the website(s). For example, we may not be able to recognise your computer or mobile device and you may need to log in every time you visit our website(s).

Which cookies do we use?

We categorize cookies based on their purpose and duration. Below we explain the different types of cookies we use and why we use them. For a detailed list of specific cookies, please refer to our Cookie Table.

We use both session cookies and permanent cookies.

• Session cookies are deleted when you close the browser (e.g. Safari or Google Chrome).

• Permanent cookies remain on your device after you have closed the browser. The Cookie will be stored for as long as the period of time indicated in the Cookie table or until you remove it.

Our website uses both essential and non-essential cookies to improve your experience as a visitor.

• Essential cookies are automatically stored on your browser and cannot be disabled as they are essential for the proper operation of the basic functionalities of our website.

• Non-essential cookies (preferences, statistics and marketing & social media cookies) help us analyze and understand how you use our website, to store your preferences as a user and to provide you with content and advertisements that are relevant to you. These cookies are never enabled without your prior consent.

We use the following types of Cookies:

Operation and optimisation

These Cookies are necessary to help us ensure that the Webpage is working as it should. They also give us information which allows us to test new ideas and improve the Webpage. You can’t opt out of these cookies, otherwise you cannot access our website

Authentication

These Cookies recognise you when you visit our Webpage.

Preference

These Cookies remember your choices on the Webpage (e.g. username, language etc.) and tell us how you have interacted with the Webpage so that we can personalise our service.

Performance

These Cookies analyse how you use the Webpage and monitor the Webpage's performance. This helps us identify and manage problems. A performance Cookie can keep track of the traffic on different pages as well as the performance of the Webpage and give us information on how long it takes for a page to load.

Marketing

By collecting information on how you interact with the Webpage, these Cookies help us be more relevant in our communication with you and improve your experience. These Cookies are often placed by a third party to manage the performance of ads, show ads and / or build user profiles in order to display ads elsewhere

Other tracking technologies

These techniques will help us understand how you use the Webpage. This can, for example, be a small, transparent picture that is embedded in a Webpage or in an email which collects data such as your IP-address, information about your device and your location. These cookies may be used by our third-party analytics services providers (such as Google Analytics) when you visit our website, to collect and store certain technical information.

You can choose which cookies we can set by selecting your specific cookie preference through our cookie consent banner when you first visit our website. Our consent mechanism allows you to make granular choices about which categories of optional cookies you wish to accept. We only enable non-essential cookies if you have given your explicit consent.

You can withdraw your consent at any time. You can also use your browser setting to block all cookies (including essential cookies). To do this, follow the instructions provided by your browser (usually located within the 'settings', 'help', 'tools', or 'edit' facility). Most browsers allow you to see what cookies you have and delete them individually or block third-party cookies. However, if you block all cookies (including essential cookies), you may not be able to access all or parts of our website, or certain functions may not work properly.

First- and third-party Cookies

First-party Cookies are set by the Webpage on your device and therefore only we can see the data that the Cookie retrieves. Third-party Cookies are set by a party other than us when you visit the Webpage. Lighthouse only uses reliable third-parties. Third-party cookies can, amongst other functions, help us understand the needs of our users and give us information on how effective our marketing is. Third-party cookies may in some cases be used on websites other than the Webpage. Information collected by these third-parties cannot identify your name, contact information or other personal information unless you choose to provide it.

You should always check such third-parties’ websites and policies to ensure you are in agreement with how they use cookies and process your data.
